Temporary Hibernation

Apologies to everyone who hasn't had emails answered and comments posted with regards to the blog.

I've been working beyond the capabilities of 10 people, have a major web application project I'm working on outside of my 9-5 consultancy contract and am generally flat-out.

The aim is to incorporate/evolve this website into the new application as/when/if I get it running which is planned for Q4 this year.

Please feel free to read on and post comments. If you wish to join the forum, please be advised I may not be able to answer questions due to having less than no time whatsoever, but please do post your thoughts and questions as the forum is getting picked up well in many search engines and the visits are numerous.

If someone wishes to moderate however? ;-)

What's the application? A CMS?

Ed says:

It's under wraps at the moment but in a nutshell it's an online network for businesses, incorporating a CMS. It's quite focused and aims to improve business productivity, marketing exposure and also create a knowledge based community. It will be non-income generating but the power and value from my perspective is in the new business discovery channel I'm creating and the business networking which has proved priceless offline.

Still a very long way to go though. I've already got a fulltime contract as well as other studies and projects to get on with.

I have been to the newly started £5 App Meetings in Brighton recently. In these meetings, web developers (mainly) discuss applications they have developed in their spare time. Some applications have now 'made it'. There is usually a presentation followed by Q and A. It's all very informal (beer and cake provided!). Perhaps you could present your new application? Here's my post on the last meeting.

Ed says:

I will be looking for many networking opportunities to evangelise the service so nearer the time I'll check it out and add it to the list of presentations.

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the contract I'm in I don't go too far beyond Hastings and the Rother District but this new service should allow me to reach further afield.
