Can my web host block Google analytics and sitemaps?
Hi,
I have signed up several sites to Google sitemaps and analytics.
However just one will not accept site verification or analytics, this site has a different server host to the rest. Is there anything this host could be doing to block interaction?

The only problems I've come across with regards to adding 3rd party scripts such as Google Analytics is content management systems or page managers stripping some of the script or even adding whitespace or breaks around certain lines of code which ends up breaking the script and stopping it from running.
In terms of correct installation but Google not activating the Analytics, it could be a number of things such as an error in the HTML or framsets perhaps. Has the website been HTML validated?
I'm sure a host is a host and will serve what it's told to, unless it's a freebie that amends source HTML to include ads and the like.

The index page is just straight HTML.
I also have used the "add file" method in verification, the file is on the server but refuses to acknowledge it.
-"We couldn't find your verification file. Your server returned a 404 (Not found) status code when we checked for this file".
But looking at remote files in DW it is there.
That's what got me to thinking about the host server.

It was a server issue, they have upgraded and I was uploading stuff to the old one! I wonder if they would ever got round to telling me.
